Nene Raju Nene Mantri - Review
Production: Suresh Production & Blue Planet
Rating : U/A
Genere : Political Drama
Music: Anup Rubens
Editor: Venkateswara Rao
Story, Screenplay, Direction: Teja
Cast: Rana Daggubati, Kajal Aggarwal, Catherine Tresa, Navdeep, Ashutosh Rana
A straight film from Rana after a long gap due to Bahubali and the genere is not different to him after all his launchpad was from a political thriller drama
Plot: Rana as Jogendra was a financier who is very affectionate to his wife, however when his wife gets hurt, it turns him towards taking control of village and becomes power hungry where he goes to the extreme of getting into CM position, however does he takes that position, what happens to him and Radha is all the climax
Analysis & Performance: Rana as Jogendra play the role with ease and it is refreshing to see him as a power hungry person similar to leader. He has given it all in this movie and his role as a petty financier to power hungry was shown and demonstrated with ease in every frame. First is fast moving and shows the variations of Rana's charactor as a lovable husband, to caring human, to witty politician who does anything to get power and sometimes as pshyco as well, all these variations were shown by Rana which is great. Kajal Agarwal has a meaty role and story revolves around her. She looked as a perfect cast for this role and comes homely all through the movie. She had a good scope of acting and does it well. Catherene Tresa comes as a second heroine and does her part well. Navdeep is another to mention, though he comes in very less frame does his role to the perfection. Last fight sequence shows the Rana's body which he built for Bahubali and maintains it well. Climax is unexpected and it is worthy mention.
Music, Screenplay, Direction: Music by Anup is decent and his BGM on certain punch dialogue deliveries were good. Jogendra song was good one. First half was very fast as it shows twist and turns and psychic way of things done by Jogendra to get into power, Became little prechy at the end but it is expected for a political drama, so no complaints. Dialogues are very important in political drama and it is done well in this movie.
Flipside : While first half is racy, second half loses its pace on patches which impacts the movie's fast script. Also it gets stuck with emotional drama between Jogendra and Radha. Any political leader becomes a mass leader if the opponent is strong, while we had Ashutosh Rana as villan, his role clarity was missing as he comes as confused personality and reason to that was not explained.
Overall , refreshing to see Rana back in political drama after leader
My view: 3/5
TagLine: Political Drama, but not impactful like Leader
