Diwali Tamil movie releases 2017 expectation
Diwali is always festival of lights plus movies for tamilnadu people, in my younger days, there used to be dozens of tamil movies that used to get release and it is an event to watch atleast 2 - 3 movies during those diwali holidays.
However with ever changing world, gadgets etc the number of movies got down to half a dozen few years back and now with sattilite and online shows, it seems to be just 2 or 3 movies now and that too is not known till the last min with the recent developments on ticket price and others.

Let's come back to the movie releases for 2017 Diwali for Tamil
Mersal - U/A
This is the highest expected movie for this diwali season as it is going to be a celebration for Vijay fans. The teaser and trailers clocked record number of hits and likes in youtube. Refer my article on Mersal teaser view. This comes right after the hit provided by the combo of Atlee and Vijay in Theri. With the likes of AR Rahman for music the expectation is only increasing. With 100+ crore budget from Thenandal films this stands the highest budget Vijay film. With this sought of combination, pre-release business is very high for Mersal. With U/A rating which was received just today, the overseas business has set new record for Vijay movies for an undisclosed amount and highest ever non-Rajini movie. With 250 screens in Kerala this is going to set a new bench mark for Vijay movie. This movie will also be screened in france Le Grand Rex movie, only movie to be screened after Kabali and Bahubali2. The sattilite business is not known yet.

Kodiveeran - U
This Sasikumar movie is going to deal with brother - sister as Muthiah does this with ease with rural background and human relationship and emotions. His first movie had mother-son bonding, 2nd movie komban had son in law and father in law relationship, 3rd movie had grandmother and grand son bonding in Maruthu. This seems to be brother sister bonding played by Sasikumar as brother with 3 female leads Poorna, Sanusha and Mahima Nambiyar. Vidarth and Pasupathi also has a main role in this movie who are coming from recent hits. It will be interesting to see how the story evolves as there were several bench mark movies when it comes to brother - sister relationships
Expectation Percentage:
MeyadhaMaan
This is the first production venture of unique director Karthick subburaj. This film has Vaibhav in lead role and Priya Bhavani shankar of Vijay TV fame lead artist plays the lady lead which creates huge expectation. Teaser and song promos seems to be interesting and has retro effect with Murali kind of a role. Seems to be a full length romantic comedy movie and we have to see how this low budget competes with Mersal
